Maryellen Whittington-Couse is currently the Director of the Mid-hudson Migrant Education Program. Maryellen is also a lead facilitator of theOpening Doors: A Personal and Professional Journey workshop. She is president of What Matters, a training and consulting firm that focus on time management, work/life balance and personal productivity.
Maryellen currently serves as Director of the Mid-Hudson Migrant Education Outreach Program. Prior to that she was the Assistant Director for the Opening Doors Diversity Project. For over 12 years she was the Director of a NYS regional Bilingual/ESL Technical Assistance Center where she provided professional development and technical assistance to school districts with English language learners. She has helped prepare teachers meet the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse students at the graduate level for many years. Since 2001 Maryellen has been facilitating Opening Doors with a focus on white identity development.
Maryellen holds a Bachelor’s in Educational Studies, a Master of International Administration from the School for International Training and is a Cornell Certified Diversity Management Professional.
