Kathy Castania is a lead facilitator in the Opening Doors Diversity Project. She is the former Project Director and co-founder of the national Change Agent States for Diversity (CASD) project as part of the Cooperative Extension system. She retired from Cornell University after 23 years as a Senior Extension Associate with the Cornell Migrant Program in the Department of Human Development where she also served as the Multicultural Education Coordinator for the NYS Migrant Education Program. Ms. Castania has facilitated diversity workshops at both the National and State levels. She is the author of a series of articles on diversity and published a “training of trainers” curriculum for Opening Doors workshops. She has been training apprentices in the facilitation of this model for 13 years and is currently implementing the curriculum with a national team of facilitators from North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Michigan State University and throughout New York State. Ms. Castania holds a Bachelor’s in Education and a Master’s in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University.
